If you have time on your hands. There are many ways to volunteer with Action for Children IN-PACT. Some of our volunteers help out in the office or at special times, for example; when the Network Newsletter is ready to go out to parents and professionals in Northumberland, or when there is a big conference or training event coming up.
Many parents volunteer for the the main Parent Carer and Professional Forum where they are involved in the planning of services for disabled children and their families. To find out more click on this link or go to the partication page in News and Events.
Parent 2 Parent is a new service that will be offered to parents from late September 2009.
As a parent of a child with a disability, you will have something unique to offer. Because of your own experiences, you can empathise with new parents and help them to
make positive adjustments to the news of their child's disability.
Many parents find it invaluable to have another parent to talk to who can understand and listen.
Why not become one of our Parent 2 Parent volunteers and support parents in your locality?
Parent 2 Parent offers emotional support and information to parents of children who have additional needs or disabilities living in Northumberland.
